HUD Officially Extends Non-Scoring Deficiencies
for another Year!
Still on vacation (Japan is amazing – cruise was extended 2 days due to a typhoon)!
This October Newsletter will also be short and straight to the point!
HUD has officially postponed the scoring of the current, temporarily non-scoring deficiencies (certain Affirmative Habitability Requirements) for another year – until October 1, 2026!
You can read the official notice and the specific deficiencies that will remain non-scoring another year here: Scoring Delayed Until October 1 2026
Remember, you will still have to repair them within their allotted time frames.

HUD has PDFs (videos are currently down) on how to appeal and how to close out H&S deficiencies here:
NSPIRE Toolkit
**Remember, if you will be appealing something, your “defect mitigation in 24 hours” is that you are appealing…not that you fixed it!**
**If you need more time than 24 hours, block access to the hazard temporarily, if possible AND request approval from HUD for more time to your local HUD office AE AND NSPIREREGULATIONS@HUD.gov
