Security/Safety Fencing vs Non-security/Non-safety Fencing
- Security/Safety Fencing
- Security fences typically enclose the entire perimeter of the property. Safety fences prevent access to specific areas.
- Must be a minimum of 4 feet high to be considered security/safety fencing.
- If a property has fencing along its perimeter acting as a security/safety fence, whether owned by the property or not, it is inspectable! (This does not apply to non-security/non-safety fencing).
- Non-security/non-safety fencing
- Fences less than 4 feet high.
- A unit patio fence is a privacy fence and is considered non-security/non-safety only if less than 4 feet in height.
- Subject to a 25% damage minimum – this 25% requirement applies to EACH individual unit fence.
